Fortanix Recognized in Five 2026 Gartner® Hype Cycle™ Reports
Fortanix® Inc., a global leader in data and AI security and a pioneer of Confidential Computing, today announced that it has again been recognized as a Sample Vendor in five 2026 Gartner Hype Cycle™ reports: Hype Cycle for Data Security Technologies, Hype Cycle for Digital Sovereignty, Hype Cycle for Privacy, Hype Cycle for Compute and Hype Cycle for Telco Cloud Services. Fortanix was recognized in the Confidential Computing (CC) and Key Management as a Service (KMaaS) categories.
We feel this recognition comes as enterprises rethink the security infrastructure required to support AI at scale. AI Factories, sovereign AI initiatives and accelerated computing environments are bringing together sensitive data, proprietary models and high-value workloads across increasingly distributed infrastructure, creating new requirements for cryptographic agility, centralized key control and protection of data in use.
According to us, Fortanix addresses these requirements with a unified approach to data and AI security that combines next-generation HSM technology, enterprise key management and Confidential Computing.
“AI is changing the infrastructure enterprises depend on, and security has to evolve with it,” said Anand Kashyap, CEO and co-founder of Fortanix. “The same infrastructure that enables organizations to scale AI also creates new requirements around data protection, model security, sovereignty and cryptographic control. We believe the future is a unified security architecture that combines the strength of hardware-backed cryptography with the flexibility of cloud-scale software and the verifiable protection of Confidential Computing.”
Modernizing the Cryptographic Foundation for AI
As enterprises adopt hybrid cloud and AI infrastructure, traditional cryptographic security approaches must evolve. Fortanix Data Security Manager™ (DSM) combines next-generation HSM capabilities with centralized key, certificate and secrets management, helping organizations maintain control across on-premises and cloud environments while supporting crypto-agility and automation.
According to a recent Gartner® report*, “CIOs face growing privacy, data privacy, and sovereignty compliance demands. Confidential computing helps them process sensitive data and operate AI with confidence. It enables secure collaboration and regulatory alignment, even when trust in providers and partners is uncertain.”
Fortanix extends this protection to AI through Confidential AI, which uses Confidential Computing to protect sensitive data and proprietary models during training, fine-tuning and inference. Hardware-enforced isolation, CPU and GPU attestation, and secure key release help protect AI workloads across cloud, on-premises infrastructure and AI Factories.
In our view, Fortanix’s recognition across five Gartner Hype Cycle reports reflects the expanding role of these technologies across data security, digital sovereignty, privacy and compute. Confidential Computing and KMaaS provide complementary capabilities for establishing trusted, cryptographically controlled infrastructure for sensitive data, applications and AI workloads.
