Challenge
Too much data and data silos
- The company had a distributed and siloed IT and data infrastructure that was spread across multi-cloud, restaurant-level data centers, and third-party vendor environments and utilized a vast array of operating systems, database tools, and software libraries, including legacy technologies such as POS Ready 2009, SQL Lite, SQL Express, MySQL and mobile platforms such as Android/iOS.
- The siloed data infrastructure made managing data and security a complex exercise. The company wanted a Key Management System (KMS) and Encryption solution that could be implemented across its chain of restaurants with much-needed granular and centralized data security across all stacks of the infrastructure.
- With an ever-increasing requirement to store data across different clouds, databases, storage options and locations, the company had a monumental challenge when it came to securing this data. The company lacked centralized visibility, ability to identify gaps and correlate all the data to detect possible threats.
